My Death Should Be The Last One In The TSRTC Strike: Mahabubabad RTC Driver

HYDERABAD: As the TSRTC Strike entered the 40th day and with no clarity in sight for the agitating workers, another RTC driver committed suicide on Wednesday.

As per reports, Avula Naresh (51) consumed pesticide in the early hours of Wednesday. His family members after noticing that he had consumed pesticide, immediately shifted his to the Mahabubabad area hospital, but he died while undergoing treatment.

The driver also left a suicide note blaming Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao for his death. In the note he mentioned that his death should be the last one in the ongoing RTC strike and that no other family should suffer like his family, he wrote. He also specifically mentioned that JAC convenor Ashwathama Reddy should attend his funeral and that all the RTC employees should be happy.

After learning about the death of Naresh, his colleagues, JAC leaders took the body to Mahabubad bus depot and staged a protest demanding justice for the driver. They said that he was depressed over the government's inaction and committed suicide. There was mild tension in the town and police were called in to avoid any untoward incidents.

Naresh who hailed from Yellampet village in Maripeda mandal had joined the RTC services as a driver in 2007. He is survived by wife Polamma and two sons Srikanth and Sai Kiran. His wife is said to be suffering from a heart ailment since the past five years and her medical expenditure was Rs 5000 per month. Apart from this, the children's education burden was also on him.
