Hyderabad IIT Student Commits Suicide, Third Suicide In The Year

HYDERABAD: A depressed IIT-Hyderabad student committed suicide by jumping from the hostel building in the early hours of Tuesday, October 29.

According to the reports, the deceased had been identified as Siddhartha(20) who is a resident of Qutubbulapur. He had been depressed over his performance in academics and took this extreme step. Siddhartha jumped off the building at 3.26 am and before that he sent a mail with a suicide note to his friends.

Students and staff who noticed his attempt, rushed him to Continental Hospital for treatment.He had succumbed to his injuries at the hospital and the body was sent for postmortem. Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad (IIT-H) staff informed his parents over the incident. Police registered a case and started an inquiry.
