Prof Kodandaram Arrested For Objecting Uranium Mining

Nagarkurnool: Telangana Jana Samithi President Prof. M Kodandaram was arrested at Hajipur Cross Roads on Saturday. He was on his way to Achampeta mandal to raise awareness among the locals against uranium mining and to help build a resistance movement.

Several activists protesting against uranium mining staged a protest against what they termed as an illegal arrest. The sit-in organised by them resulted in blockade and the scores of vehicles being stranded on the highway. They accused police of using high handedness against the democratic protest and demanded the immediate release of Prof Kodandaram.
