GHMC Raids Hyderabad Pubs, Seizes Six Without License
Hyderabad: GHMC raided six pubs in city limits which are being run illegally by pub owners. They were seized for not having any trade licence, enough parking area and not ensuring fire safety norms.
Earlier, 20 pubs were seized by GHMC but 12 of those pub owners took advantage of legal loopholes and got stay orders from courts. The six pubs seized by GHMC on Thursday were Farzi Cafe, Absorb- The Boutique Bar, Le Vantage, Juri Cafe & Bar, TOT Nightclub and Cafe Bar in Jubilee Hills and Zen On 10 in Banjara Hills. GHMC Officials said these pubs were being run from illegal constructions and putting the safety of customers at risk. The pubs were seized based on the notices issued about three months ago.
Further to the notices Dock Forty Five pub has been demolished following Corporation orders, United Kitchens Of India and Nala Bhima were shut down permanently and a few others had reconstructed the pubs. These six pubs are closed pending the rectification of the structures. The inspections will continue in every pub in Hyderabad, according to GHMC officials.
