Karimnagar Model School Kids Fall Ill After Breakfast
Karimnagar: After consuming breakfast served in a school in the district, forty students fell ill and were hospitalised. The incident took place in TS Model School for Girls in Keshavapatnam mandal. 84 students are a part of the school, pursuing the Intermediate first and second-year courses.
On Monday night, three of them complained of severe stomach pain after consuming food served at dinner. They were rushed to a nearby hospital. The next morning, 37 more students of the school fell ill after consuming breakfast. The district medical and health officer Ram Mohan Rao, upon learning the situation, rushed to the hostel. Accompanied by Deputy DMHO Rajamouli and Tahasildar Vijaya Lalitha, the Health Officer called for the ambulances and shifted the students to Huzurabad government hospital and Karimnagar government hospital for medical treatment. The officials have initiated an inquiry into the matter.
According to the doctors at the hospital, the students consumed adulterated food due to which they fell ill. However, the doctors informed that the students admitted in the hospital were safe and are recovering.
