Kaleshwaram Project, A Boon To Arid Telangana

Kaleshwaram, one of the most prestigious project and pride of Telangana is inaugurated today. The project is dubbed as the world's largest multi-stage lift irrigation project -- across the Godavari river in Telangana. The Kaleshwaram project has set a record replacing Colorado lift scheme and Great Man-Made River in Egypt as largest lift-based irrigation project in the world.

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao formally inaugurated the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP) in the presence of his Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh counterpart Devendra Fadnavis and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and Telangana Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan.
