SIT Intensifies Probe Into Hajipur Serial Murders

Nalgonda: Hajipur serial rape-and-murder accused Srinivas Reddy has been taken into police custody for three days to be interrogated by Special Investigation Team on Sunday. This is the second time the accused is being interrogated by the SIT.

According to the Rachakonda Police Commisionarate, the Nalgonda District Court permitted the SIT to take custody of Srinivas Reddy, who until so far was in judicial remand. While it has clearly emerged that Srinivas Reddy is the man behind all the murders, police want to ascertain if he alone was responsible for the horrific crimes or if he was aided by others.

The Rachakonda Police had already quizzed family members and friends of Srinivas Reddy in connection with rapes and murders. The nondescript village of Hajipur hogged the lime light with the horrendous crimes committed by Srinivas Reddy. Three minor girls were brutally raped and murdered by the accused before dumping the dead bodies in an unused dry well.
