Dogs Attack And Severely Injure 6-Year-Old

Hyderabad: In a brutal incident, a 6-year-old boy was attacked by street dogs at Moula Ali. He sustained severe injuries on his head neck and thigh.

The incident took place in the evening at around 6 pm. While the family of Saqlain Ali were preparing themselves to break their fast at Ifthar, the boy had gone out to play at the hill area. It was there that a group of almost 8 dogs charged at him and then attacked him. Locals from around had heard the cries and rushed to the spot to help the boy but he was already severely injured and bleeding by the. He was thenshifted to Gandhi hospital where he was being treated and is now brought to a stable condition.

Many complaints were being filed by the people of the society with the GHMC to tackle the dog menace. Shakir Ali the father of the by while talking to a local daily said, “Some locals rescued my son when they heard him crying for help. A group of dogs had attacked him and dragged him into the bushes and bitten him brutally.”

A GHMC official said they had been attending to complaints regarding dogs and had vaccinated the strays. “The incident that took place at Moula Ali was a result of not cleaning the leftover food, especially meat. The dogs most likely went there in search of food and attacked the boy,” said Dr Srinivas Reddy, in-charge of the veterinary wing (north zone), GHMC.

Another GHMC official said, “A team visited the area on Tuesday and vaccinated the dogs. All four teams of our veterinary wing are fully equipped and functioning, and we've ensured to vaccinate and sterilise the dogs wherever we've received complaints from.”
