Water Tubs For Wildlife At UoH

Arranging Water tubs for the wild life in the UoH campus. - Sakshi Post

Rohith Bond, Research Scholar of School of Computer and Information Sciences at the University of Hyderabad (UoH) along with his team has taken up the task of arranging Water tubs for the wild life in the UoH campus.

UoH has a habitat for 200 plus species of Birds, various mammals and reptiles. Lakes and smaller ponds are drying up due to scorching summer heat and many animals are perishing due to lack of water.

Rohith along with his team has procured eight permanent cement water tubs for the campus wildlife. First Phase Water tubs were arranged by Dr Ashok Madikonda, WILD LENS member in 2016. Later University administration has arranged 10 more permanent tubs in the same year.

The Wild Lens team are thankful to our Computer Science faculty Dr Naveen Nekkuri, Dr Swaroopa Rani, Dr Salman Abdul Moiz and Dr Sai Prasad, Research Scholars- Anil GR, Manoranjan GR, Abdul Basit and Prateek for the help and care provided to the fauna of the University campus.

The team is also thankful to the Horticulture wing; staff CP Sharma, V Subba Rao for their continuous efforts in arranging water for wildlife. Chief Security Officer L Vijay Kumar has been a constant support in the conservation activities taken up in the University campus.
