Fani Intensifies Heat In AP, Telangana, Temperatures Touch 46° C
Hyderabad: Telangana and Andhra Pradesh is reeling under intense heat wave conditions with the mercury levels crossing 46 degree Celsius at many places in both the states.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) officials, the heat severity has intensified further due to depletion of the moisture in the atmosphere from the two states caused by the Cyclonic storm Fani.
The temperatures in Khammam, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Mahbubabad and Jagtial have reached 45 to 46 degree Celsius.
The IMD have issued a heat wave warning for Telangana till May 10 and the mercury levels are likely to touch 47 to 48 degree Celsius during the month.
In the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, Pedakurapadu in Guntur recorded 46.68 degrees Celsius on Wednesday. Six places across the state recorded temperatures between 46 and 47 degrees Celsius.
