Another Inter Student Ends Life  

Kothagudem: It has been more than three weeks since the Intermediate results are out in Telangana. But the students’ suicides owing to discrepancies in marks declared by the Board of Intermediate are continuing unabated.

In a latest incident, an Intermediate girl from Bhadradri – Kothagudem Saila Manasa (17) passed away at a hospital Hyderabad while undergoing treatment. Manasa consumed pesticide 20 days ago after she came to know that she had failed in her exams. The girl hailed from Vengannapalem village in Julurupadu mandal of Bhadradri – Kothagudem district.

The family of Manasa is sobbing inconsolably and accused the Board of Intermediate for being extremely negligent that cost the life of her daughter. They demanded against the errant officials in the Board.

The lackadaisical approach of the Board of Intermediate in declaring results that has large number of irregularities have cost the lives of over 20 students across Telangana. The issue has snowballed into a major controversy in the State with Opposition parties demanding the TRS government to sack Education Minister G Jagadish Reddy and take responsibility for the students’ suicides.
