Telangana Police Bag Top Honours
At the 52nd Skoch Summit held in New Delhi on Tuesday, the Telangana state police have bagged five awards for its performance in different categories.
The Skoch awards are being conferred to the states in India since 2003 in areas of digital, financial and social inclusion.
The 2018 awards were conferred to various states with Telangana securing a total of 14 awards in the fields of finance, police, energy, information and communication technology, food and civil supply, urban development, agriculture, municipality and district administration.
The Telangana Police were awarded for their competency in Road Safety and Smart Traffic Management, SHE Teams - anti-sexual harassment teams, BHAROSA - a support center for children and women, where victims of sexual abuse can seek help; CCTV surveillance and Dial-100 services. Road Safety and Smart Traffic Management secured the award in the Gold category.
Telangana Home Minister Mahmood Ali felicitated the award winners of Hyderabad Police Commissionerate on Tuesday at Secretariat.
