Using Phone While Charging Electrocutes Man In Ibrahimpatnam

Hyderabad: A harmless phone being put on charge, cost a man his life in the city. A 23-year-old man was electrocuted while using his phone that was plugged in for charge on Saturday night in Ibrahimpatnam.

The victim, identified as Gunukula Naresh, was using the mobile phone while it was kept on charge, said the police. Naresh was a mechanic and lived with his parents at Manneguda. He had gone to charge his Mobile phone while his family were preparing to have dinner.

Ibrahimpatnam inspector P Guruva Reddy said, “After placing the charger in the socket, he switched on the plug and got electrocuted. His hand was also burnt in the process. Naresh was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment, but was declared brought dead.”

A case under Section 174 of the CrPC has been registered based on a complaint from his father and an investigation has been taken up. The body was handed over to the family members after conducting a post-mortem at a government hospital.
