Kashmiri Traders At Numaish Determined To Come Back Despite Losses
Hyderabad: The traders at Numaish suffered heavy losses in the destructive fire mishap that occurred last week. In the aftermath of the accident, the Nampally exhibition organizers doubled the security and safety precautions, further re-opening the gates for the public.
Interestingly, the Hyderabad public are not discouraged by the horrific fire and came out in large numbers to spend their weekend at the Nampally Exhibition Grounds. Even though the atmosphere at Numaish was upbeat with people having a good time shopping and having fun, the affected area looked particularly lifeless.
Several stall owners lost everything in the fire as their stalls were burnt down in matter of minutes. While they state that the fire was uncontrollable, the fire fighters are being lauded for their efforts in dousing down the intense fire, before more damage could have occurred.
Traders from Kashmir are facing more difficulties as due to heavy snowfall in the state, bringing new stock is not possible.
However, they shared that they received a lot of support from the society with the students of TMREIS, Goshamahal donating food to all the affected traders. Even the popular food joint ‘Pista House’ among others are providing them with food and water every day.
The stall owners are appreciative of the Hyderabad people who are supporting through this difficult phase and hope that the Exhibition Society helps them to recover at least a part of their losses.
Despite the heavy losses incurred, the traders are optimistic and plan to return next year.
