Sanction Road Projects In Telangana, Says TRS MP To Nitin Gadkari

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has demanded Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari to approve all the road projects for Telangana. The TRS reacted strongly against the Minister particularly after he laid the foundation stone for few roads projects in Andhra Pradesh.
Karimnagar MP B Vinod Kumar on Tuesday stated that despite requests by the Telangana government for several road projects, the Centre has not given approval. He also added that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had even met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nitin Gadkari on several occasions in this regard yet the Centre didn't approve the projects for Telangana.
Pointing out the fact that Nitin Gadkari laid the foundation stone for 32 projects in AP and launched seven of them worth Rs 17,000 cr, the TRS MP in a letter to the Minister urged him to sanction projects in Telangana equal to AP ahead of the budget session of Parliament.
Speaking at a press conference in Hyderabad, Vinod Kumar referred to the regional ring road project planned for the city at a distance of 50 km, which is yet to be approved.
Stating that the Centre is not sanctioning the project despite submission of alignment proposals and providing an undertaking to bear 50 percent of the land acquisition costs, he said that the upgradation of national highways of 25 state roads are also waiting for approval even after several representations from the Telangana government. So far, only 1,388 km of state roads have been notified as national highways.
Even after principal approval received, 13 state road having 1767 km length are yet to be declared national highways, the MP stated.
These include: Medak-Ruduru-Bhodan-Basar-Bhansai Junction at NH-61 of length 166 km, Karimnagar junction at NH 563-Sircilla-Kamareddy-Yellareddy-Pitlam junction at NH 161 - 165 km, Sarapaka-Eturunagaram-Kaleshwaram-Chennur-Kauthala-Sirpur road - 396 km, Miryalaguda-Piduguralla-Narsaraopet - 26 km, Bhadrachalam-Jeelugumilli-Jangareddygudem-Devarapally - 68 km, Zaheerabad-Bidar-Deglur - 25 km, Choutuppal-Ibrahimpatnam-Amangal-Shadnagar-Chevella-Shankarpally-Kandi, NH 563 - 133km, Junction at Hyderabad outer ring road-Valigonda-Thorrur-Nellikduru-Mahubababad-Yellandu-Kothagudem, NH 30-234km, Tandur-Kodangal-Mahtralayam road - 70km, Rangashaipet-Chintanekkonda-Kesamudram-Mahabubabad - 71km, and Bhupalpally-Anshanpally-Gorlaveedru-Neredpally Thanda (Chainpaka)-Garmillapally-Burapally-Emped-Vavilala-Jammikunta-veenavanka-Karimnagar -131km.
