Balapur Ganesh Laddu Sets All Time High Record

Hyderabad: T Srinivas Gupta, Arya Vysya Sangam President, has set an all-time high record in the auction conducted for the popular Balapur Ganesh laddu. Earlier today, Srinivas won the auction for the laddu for Rs 16.60 lakh, a lakh more than last year's price of Rs 15.60 lakh. The auction for the 21 kg laddu was held at Balapur Village in city outskirts in presence of over 1.5 lakh devotees.
According to the organisers, the laddu was prepared by Uma Maheswar Rao of Tapeshwaram in East Godavari district.
The Balapur Ganesh laddu gained prominence in the Telugu States after its launch in 1994 for Rs 450.
