Pranay Murder: KTR Promises Justice To Amrutha

Pranay honour killing: IT minister K Taraka Rama Rao - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: In the wake of the shocking honour killing of Dalit youth Pranay in Miryalaguda, Telangana caretaker IT minister K Taraka Rama Rao (KTR) said that the perpetrators of the crime would be punished. The news of Pranay's murder has sent shock waves throughout both the Telugu States.

On Friday, when the newly married couple Pranay and Amrutha visited the Jyoti Hospital in Miryalaguda, an unknown assailant came from behind Pranay and struck him with a butcher’s knife. The ghastly incident was recorded in the CCTV installed in the hospital's premises. Pranay married Amrutha about six months ago despite resistance from Amrutha's father, Maruthi Rao, who is believed to be the villain in the piece. The police have already arrested Maruthi Rao and are investigating the case.

Meanwhile, KTR, in a condolence tweet addressing to Amrutha, said that the culprits would be punished and justice would prevail. "Pranay’s gruesome murder in Miryalaguda has come as a rude shock. Dismayed & anguished on how deep-rooted casteism still is. The perpetrators of this heinous crime will be punished & justice will prevail. My condolences & whole-hearted sympathies to his wife Amrutha Garu & parents," the minister said in his tweet.
