KCR Launches Kanti Velugu Programme

Hyderabad: The Telangana government's ambitious and prestigious programme Kanti Velugu (eye screening) programme in 12,751 villages was launched across the state today by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao at Malkapur village in Medak district. Meanwhile public representatives and TRS leaders kicked off the programme in their respective constituencies in the state.

Speaking on the occasion, KCR said over 810 medical teams will conduct eye screenings across the state. About 250 persons in rural areas and 300 people in urban areas are expected to be screened in a day in a camp.

KCR mentioned that many people in the state were suffering from eye problems and there was an urgent need for eye check for many of them. Everyone can have free eye check up and those needed to be operated will also be done free of cost, he informed at the public meeting that was arranged at Malkapur.
