Bogatha Waterfalls Tragedy A Lesson For Tourists
Bogatha (Bhupalpally): District Collector, D. Amoy Kumar requested visitors to Bogatha waterfalls in Wajedu mandal, to exercise restraint and accord more importance to safety. He cautioned them not to venture deep into the water, because such acts could prove fatal. While instructing officials to put in place preventive steps needed to avoid the occurence of accidents, he also appealed to members of the public to demonstrate caution.
It may be recalled that Burri Hariprasad, a resident of Kukatpally ventured deep into the water, away from the waterfalls underestimating the flow of the rapids. Hari was swept away by the waters. The police, had deployed expert swimmers to find Hari Prasad, whose body was found on Monday.
The Collector inspected work at the site of the waterfalls and interacted with members of the public on the occasion. Amoy Kumar sought their opinion on the facilities at the tourist site. He also made enquiries with respect to progress on the proposed ecotourism project.
