Telengana To Have Food Processing Policy Soon

Hyderabad: Telangana government is likely to have its food processing policy soon with an ambition is to give more financial security to farmers. The policy will cover various segments of farming such as providing more benefits to turmeric, lime, mango, paddy and millet cultivators.

While projecting the policy at World Food India 2018 in New Delhi on Saturday, industries and commerce minister KT Rama Rao said that the main intention of the food processing policy was to double the incomes of farmers in the state.

KTR stated the numerous actions taken by the state government was to motivate the agriculture and allied sectors. He said the extensive action that were to be taken to increase irrigation facilities would include construction of go downs and improving the cold storage. The government was even planning to open processing units at village level based on the production of crops, he added.
