Telangana welfare on our agenda: Jagan

Telangana welfare on our agenda: Jagan - Sakshi Post

Assuring that YSRCP will implement all the welfare schemes named in its manifesto in Telangana as well, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has said that his Party will be a force to reckon with as YSR is still being seen as a visionary who balanced welfare and development in this region as well.

Addressing a road-show at Sathupalli on Sunday as part of his YSR Jana Bheri electioneering he said: “this is a battle between credibility and honesty on one side and conspiracy and opportunism on the other and I appeal you to vote for YSRCP fan symbol to bring back the golden era of YSR.”

Very soon I will be taking over as Chief Minister of Seemandhra, but it does not mean that this state will be neglected. YSR is in the hearts of all Telugu people and I assure you that all welfare schemes named in the manifesto will be implemented in Telangana as well.

The unfinished Odarpu Yatra will be continued by my sister Sharmila in this region. We come to know about the plight of people only through such mass contact programmes and I have learnt the way of life of the poorest of the poor during my Odarpu Yatra which finds its reflection in the manifesto, he said.

It is important for political leaders to mingle with people to know firsthand their problems and aspirations and I have spend time with many families and no leader has taken this line of approach so far, he said.

“We in an age of degenerated politics and we have to change the system and bring back YSR golden era. I appeal you to vote for YSRCP fan symbol to bring this dream into a reality,” he said.

Five years after YSR death still he is remembered by the people as his welfare schemes have touched every section of the society and he did not impose any fresh taxes or increase any fares while carrying out the welfare schemes which made him a model Chief Minister in the country.

Before his golden era, we have seen the dark age of Chandrababu Naidu who did not care for farmers, students, women and his policies were anti-people. Pensions and housing were meager and were carried out on quota system limiting the number of beneficiaries.

He has done away with all the poll promises by increasing the Rs 2 kg rice to Rs 5.25, lifted prohibition and encouraged belt shops. He is in the habit of forgetting poll promises after elections. Even now he is coming with promises aplenty.

He is promising of loan waivers, free cell phones and television sets and his past says that he is not in the habit of fulfilling the election promises.

The Congress government after the death of YSR has been very taxing. It has burdened the people heavily and did not bring in a single new project and has brought down the values of political system.

We have to bring back credibility into the system by rejecting the divisive and opportunists and electing a responsive and responsible government, he said.

TDP, Cong. anti-people: Vijayamma

Hitting out at N Chandrababu Naidu and the Congress government, YS Vijayamma has said people have suffered a lot during that period which was bereft of development and welfare while the YSR term in between was a golden era and appealed to the people to vote for YSRCP fan symbol to bring back the YSR regime by strengthening the hands of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Addressing a public meeting as part of the YSR Jana Bheri at Araku on Sunday she said: “Chandrababu Naidu term is full of scams and there are serious corruption charges against him. He has been very rude towards farmers and increased power charges eight times in eight years. Naidu has never kept his poll promises and he had shelved the three election promises of TDP by increasing the price of Rs 2 kg rice, lifting prohibition and scrapping the subsidized power.

During elections he comes like a seasonal bird and mouth impossible promises. He has been telling that he will provide one job per family and waive agriculture and DWACRA loans to a tune of Rs 1.50 lakh crores. This is just impossible as the revenue from the state budget is just Rs 1.25 lakh crores and waiving loans is not a state subject.

YSR has petitioned with the Centre and after long sustained pursuance agriculture loans were waived on a national scale and he ensured that the State has got a fair share.

Naidu has been bluffing and his track history shows that he never cared for his poll promises. His other promise of one job per family is also a mirage as there are 3.5 crores families in the state. Naidu in the past has shut down 75 PSUs and rendered 26,000 government employees jobless. Indirectly the closure has affected over 7 lakh workers and he has given away profit making units in the cooperative sector to his close associates.

We have suffered a lot during the past four years under the Congress government which has burdened people with heavy taxes and increased power charges, RTC charges and the prices of essential commodities have sky-rocketed.

Kiran Kumar Reddy and Chandrababu Naidu have joined hands with Sonia Gandhi and split the state into two for political reasons.

YSR on the other hand has drafted welfare schemes like Aarogyasri which has taken quality medical care to the reach of the poor, pavala vaddi to empower women, provided free power to farmers and started Jalayagnam to irrigate one crore additional acres. He has carried out all the welfare schemes without increasing any charges or imposing fresh taxes. He looked beyond regional and political affiliations and his welfare schemes reached all sections of people. He stood as a model Chief Minister in the country.

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has inherited all his qualities and will carry forward YSR legacy. He was with the people and fought for the cause of people and held dharnas across the country, for farmers, weavers, students and against the government’s anti-people policies. Even while he was in jail, he has been the inspiring force and directed us to take up public issues.

“I appeal to you to vote for YSRCP fan symbol and strengthen the hands of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to bring back the golden era of YSR,” she said.
