Telangana to release water for AP
Machilipatnam: Andhra Pradesh Minister Kollu Ravindra said that the Telangana government will release 4 TMC water from the Srisailam dam on river Krishna to meet the drinking water crisis.
Minister for Excise and BC Welfare, Ravindra said that at least 4 TMC water would be diverted in to Krishna river with in five days. Later sufficient water will be drawn from Bandar Canal to meet the water crisis in Machilipatnam town and rural areas, he added.
As there is a drinking water problem in Machilipatnam town and rural villages, AP government officials raised the issue with their counterparts in Telangana.
"They (the Telangana government) have decided to release 4 TMC water from Srisailam dam for drinking water purpose in the state," he said.
