Telangana to Frame Norms on Swagruha for Govt Staff, Police

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhara Rao has issued orders for framing rules and regulations on allotment of Rajiv Swagruha flats to government employees and police staff. The State government has already decided to allocate flats under Swagruha housing scheme.

In a review meeting on double bedroom flats at the camp office, CM KCR asked the officials and A Indrakaran Reddy, Minister for Housing, to speed up the construction activity to complete the flats in time. KCR has asked the officials to prepare action plan on completing one lakh flats in Hyderabad and two lakh flats in districts as per the schedule.

The State government has involved cement manufacturers for providing cement at cost price, while the government will supply sand at free of cost. KCR has also agreed to release the necessary funds for completion of houses under JNRM and Vambay schemes.
KCR has directed the housing minister to ensure all the amenities including water, drainage, internal roads, electricity and other infrastructure facilities in the colonies being developed for the poor people.

Considering the space constraints in the city, KCR has asked the housing department to prepare plans on apartments with nine floors. CM has also opined that it’s better to involve local contractors in the construction of double bed room flats.
KCR has also suggested to adopt different construction methods for ensuring timely completion of the projects in the city and districts.

Using Mivan technology also came up in the discussion. Generally, Mivan technology is used in constructing large number of houses in a short span of time.

Municipal Minister KT Rama Rao, Housing Minister Indrakaran Reddy, MLAs Erraballi Dayakara Rao, Gangula Kamalakar, CS Rajiv Sharma, Municipal department’s Principal Secretary MG Gopal, Housing Department’s secretary Ashok Kumar, GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy, Hyderabad Collector Rahul Bojja and Ranga Reddy district collector Raghunandan Rao participated in the review meeting.
