Telangana Subsidises Power for Textile, Ferro Alloys Sector
Hyderabad: The Telangana government on Monday decided to give a subsidy on power tariff to textile and ferro alloys industries in the state.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has reduced the power tariff being paid at present by spinning mills to Rs 2 per unit, a state government release said. The subsidy has also been extended to ferro alloys industries.
About 40,000 people are working in different spinning mills in the state while around 5,000 are working in ferro alloys industries, it said. The decision to reduce power tariff was taken in the interest of these workmen as the spinning mills and ferro alloys industries are facing different crises, the release added.
