- The CWC meet on Telangana has just began.
- A total of 22 members, including Sonia Gandhi and CWC are part of the crucial meet
- Amid high expectations, the CWC is deliberating over Telangana. The Centre will announce its verdict after the crucial meet
- The Congress top brass is expecting that the CWC meeting too will go off without any hitches

- With speculation rife that Congress had favoured a separate statehood for Telangana, celebrations were witnessed across several regions of the state which backed division of state. Slogans of Jai Telangana slogans reverberated through Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad. There was festive atmosphere at the Osmania University campus where the Telangana movement gained momentum a few years ago.
- Announcing the much-awaited crucial decision on the contentious issue, Ajay Maken in a press conference held at the AICC office in New Delhi said that it was not easy for the Congress to make a decision. However, it has been decided to grant separate statehood for Telangana region. There will be ten districts in the newly formed state.
As expected, it has been decided that Hyderabad will act as the joint capital for both Andhra PRadesh and the newly formed state for 10 years. - He also added that the polavaram project will be treated as a national project. The two states will share all the natural resources especially the rivers, he said.
Special funds will be alloted for the development of Seemandhra region, he added.
