Hyderabad: Heat wave conditions prevailed in Telangana on Wednesday as Nizamabad sizzled at 46.1 degrees Celsius while Hyderabad saw the season's hottest day at 43 degrees.

Hyderabad Meteorological Centre has issued a heat wave warning for the next three days in both Telugu states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Most parts of Telangana recorded day temperature three to six degrees above average. Ramagundem and Nalgonda saw blistering heat with temperature rising to 45 degrees while Adilabad sizzled at 44.

Normal life was also affected in towns like Karimnagar, Khammam and Warangal, where the mercury rose to 43 degrees. The situation was no different in Medak and Nalgonda.

The streets were deserted in Hyderabad and others towns in the state as people preferred to remain indoors to escape the sweltering heat.
The daily wage earners, petty traders and people living on streets were the worst-hit.

The cool drink shops, sugarcane and other fruit juice vendors and coconut sellers did brisk business. Y.K.Reddy, director in charge, Hyderabad Meterological Centre, said the heat wave conditions would continue for next three days.

The rise in day temperature is attributed to the dry north western and northern winds. Heat wave conditions also prevailed in Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday in Krishna, Guntur and Nellore districts of south coastal Andhra region.

The highest maximum temperature 44 degrees was recorded at Vijayawada and Nandigama. Guntur, Prakasam and Kurnool recorded maximum day temperature of 42 degrees.
