TRS Turns 20! KCR Appeals For Low-Key ‘Formation Day’ Celebrations

TRS Party President K Chandrashekhar Rao - Sakshi Post

HYDERABAD: Marking the two decades of the formation of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party which falls on April 27th, Monday, its president and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) on Sunday extended his greetings to the people of Telangana and his party cadre.

To commemorate this momentous occasion, KCR will hoist the TRS party flag at the party's headquarters at 9:30 AM on Monday.

In a statement, KCR said that the party's main objective of a separate statehood for Telangana was achieved and, as a new state, it was able to make rapid strides in many key sectors like electricity, drinking water, irrigation, agriculture and industries.

He also said that the TRS-led Government has implemented various schemes for the welfare of the people of Telangana. The State has emerged as a role model for the rest of the country for the way it implemented various socio-welfare schemes and developmental programmes in the state.

Though the 20th anniversary celebrations were supposed to be planned on a grand scale, it was decided to make these festivities a very low-key affair in view of the coronavirus pandemic and to ensure that the lockdown restrictions are strictly adhered to in the state .

''This is a proud moment for the TRS party and the people of the state but we will have grand celebrations at a later date. For now, ensure that the celebrations are minimal,'' he said in his message.

All the party cadre should follow the lockdown rules and guidelines set by the state Government to prevent the spread of coronavirus, he said in his message.
