TRS RS Nominees K.Keshava Rao, K.R.Suresh Reddy File Nominations
Hyderabad: The TRS Rajya Sabha candidates filed their nomination papers on Friday. Both Keshav Rao and Suresh Reddy thanked the Chief Minister for deciding on their candidature. Telangana state Ruling party TRS had earlier announced the names of K. Keshavarao and former speaker K. R Suresh Reddy as the nominees for the Rajya Sabha elections on Thursday. Before filing their nominations they went to the Gun Park Memorial and paid floral tributes to the leaders. Present with them were Ministers KT Rama Rao and Talasani Srinivas Yadav.
K R Suresh Reddy who was the former Assembly speaker, joined TRS in 2018. Hailing from Balkonda in Nizamabad, Suresh Reddy is a four-time MLA. He began his political career as a student youth congress leader and later became a party whip. He was the Assembly speaker between 2004 and 2009 during the tenure of then Chief Minister YS Rajashekhara Reddy.
Whileincumbant Keshava Rao served as president of Congress in unified Andhra Pradesh,he was allotted to Andhra Pradesh as per the Andhra Pradesh Re-organisation Act though he belonged to Telangana. His current term would come to an end on April 9.
