TSRTC Strike: JAC for Raasta Rokos Across The State - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: With the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) strike entering the tenth day, the agitating workers are set to organise a 'Raasta Roko' (road blockage) protests in all districts across the state on Tuesday.

Joint Action Committee (JAC) president Ashwathama Reddy said that this was not some kind of ordinary strike , and it was meant for the ensuring that justice is delivered to RTC employees and the people of Telangana. He said that the 'Raasta Roko' programme would be conducted in all districts where all RTC workers, their families, teachers union, NGOs and political parties like the BJP would be taking part .

Putting the blame of the suicides of Khammam driver D Srinivas Reddy and a Hyderabad conductor Surendhar Goud as murders committed by the State government, he urged all the RTC workers not to lose hope and take such extreme steps. He expressed confidence that the Unions would succeed in this fight. Not only the RTC and the people of Telangana but the whole country is supporting us, he concluded.

More than 48,000 TSRTC employees who have been on the strike against Telangana government since October 5 were dismissed from service.

A petition was also filed in the Telangana High Court on Thursday and it was for hearing on October 15 where the HC asked the state government to submit a detailed report on the issue.
