Kaleshwaram/Medigadda: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao officially inaugurated the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS) at Medigadda in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district on Friday.

The official launching of the Godavari lift irrigation project was done by switching on the sixth Motor pump at 12.30 ,near Medigadda barrage in the presence of Governor ESL Narasimhan, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

YS Jagan formally unveiled the plaque marking the project inauguration.After which the traditional ceremony of breaking coconuts was performed by CM KCR , the Chief Guests YS Jagan , Devendra Fadnavis , Governor ESL Narasimhan and the rest of the officials and dignitaries.

AP CM YS Jagan arrived at Medigadda venue in a special helicopter from Vijayawada and was welcomed by Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy on arrival. Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao received YS Jagan at the site by offering the traditional silk shawl. YS Jagan was accompanied by AP Ministers Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy and Anil Kumar Yadav.


Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis arrived in Hyderabad and reached Medigadda in a special helicopter along with Governor ESL Narasimhan.

In the morning hours KCR along with his wife Shobha performed the Kaleshwara Jalasankalpa Mahotsava Yagam at Medigadda. He made offerings and participated in the rituals by lacing the deity of Mother Godavari accompanied by the Vedic chanting of hymns by the seers of Sringeri Peetham and Vedic priests He officially dedicated the project to farmers of Telangana State.
