I Will Sail With KCR, Won’t Leave TRS: Ponguleti
Even after being denied a ticket from the TRS party to contest in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Sitting MP Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy on Sunday reiterated that leaving is not in his agenda and he chooses not to leave the TRS party. Many people had poured into his house and pleaded with him to contest in the elections as an independent to which he said, “I will sail with KCR and try to strengthen the TRS in the district. KCR will honour every party worker who worked with commitment.”
Reddy was overwhelmed and touched when his followers had come to him and hugged him crying while they raised slogans in his favour. They also tried to stage a dharna outside his house to pressurize him to contest in the elections. The followers found it unjust that a sincere leader like him was not given a party ticket.
TRS leaders Matta Dayanand, Lingala Kamaraj, Akula Murthy, Janardhan Reddy and Thellam Venkat Rao also visited him and expressed their disappointment over the party leadership denying him a ticket. Dayanand said, “What happened with me in Sattupalli is happening with Reddy over Khammam seat.”
When confronted by the media about his stand, Reddy requested them not to force him to comment. However, when Nama Nageswara Rao, the TRS candidate for Khammam Lok Sabha constituency requested to meet with him he rejected the request.
