TRS Shocker To G Vivek: No To Peddapalli MP Ticket
Hyderabad: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) announced the list of 17 candidates for the April 11 Lok Sabha polls Thursday. TRS MP K Kavitha, daughter of party supremo and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), will seek re-election from the Nizamabad Lok Sabha constituency. Among others, the party has re-nominated B Vinod Kumar from Karimnagar.
The other Lok Sabha nominees are B Venkatesh Nethakani (Peddapalli), G Nagesh (Adilabad), BB Patil (Zahirabad), Kotha Prabhakar Reddy (Medak); Pasunoori Dayakar (Warangal), Maloth Kavitha (Mahabubabad), Bura Narsaiah Goud (Bhongir), Pothuganti Ramulu (Nagarkurnool), G Ranjith Reddy (Chevella); T Saikiran Yadav (Secunderabad) and Marri Rajasekhar Reddy (Malkajgiri). Vemireddy Narasimha Reddy (Nalgonda) would take on Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N Uttam Kumar Reddy. Khammam Lok Sabha seat was given to Nama Nageswara Rao who left the TDP and joined the TRS on Thursday.
However a few MPs had been denied tickets. Sitting MP from Mahabubnagar AP Jitender Reddy failed to get the ticket and Manne Srinivasa Reddy has replaced him as the nominee from the constituency.
The biggest shock that KCR gave was to former MP and State Government Advisor G Vivek. G Vivek was aspiring for the Peddapalli (ST) MP seat and joiend the TRS. After he joined the party the news came that Borlakunta Venkatesh Nethakani was given the ticket. Borlakunta Venkatesh who jumped from the Congress to the TRS after losing the Telanagan Assembly Elections on Thursday was given the Peddapalli ticket within an hour of joiing the party. A former Excise Deputy Commissioner Venkatesh belongs to Macherial. He had quit his job and contested against TRS Balka Suman from Chennur Constiuency and lost It is believed that Balka Suman was responsible for Venkatesh getting the ticket.
During the 2014 General Elections G Vivek left the TRS and joined the Congress and Balka Suman was given the Peddapalli MP ticket and he defeated Vivek the, After which VIvek re joined the TRS and this was not appreciated buy Suman and the local TRS cadre there. It is believed that there were differences between them.
When Balka Suman resigned from his MP seat and contested the Chennur elections, Viveka hoped that the Peddapalli ticket would be given. It was reported that Vivek had worked against the party's interest during the Assembly elections. I Apparently under Balka Suman and a few other TRS MLAs came together and conveyed this to KCR. He had also proposed Venkatesh's name to KCR for Peddapalli MP seat.
Within two days after a of serious political twists and turns Vivek's name was dropped and Venkatesh''s name was announced leaving him shocked .
Political observers are now watching to see what Vivek's next course of action would be. Apparently BJP leaders are willing to give him a ticket from Peddapalli. But whether Vivek will take the political risk of jumping parties again, based on his previous experience is what needs to be seen.
