Telangana Cabinet Meet With Just KCR, Mahmood Ali

Telangana Cabinet Meet - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: For the first time since his re-election as the Chief Minister of Telangana, Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) President K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) convened a Cabinet meeting. Home Minister Mahmood Ali, who was the lone MLA to have been sworn-in for a Cabinet post alongside KCR on December 13, 2018, has attended the meeting on Tuesday.

The current strength of Telangana Cabinet is just two, with KCR planning to expand the Cabinet following the newly elected MLAs' oath taking on January 17. Now that the State Cabinet has the Chief Minister and the Home Minister have been appointed, KCR could include 16 MLAs into the Cabinet, making it 18 ministers, the total strength of Telangana Cabinet.

Owing to KCR's recent efforts to stitch up a Federal Front comprising regional parties, the formation of a Cabinet has not come to the forefront in the initial weeks of TRS's assuming power. After the Opposition MLAs criticised the government's delay in forming his Cabinet, KCR, in his recent press meet, said that the delay was due to the government's exercise to club certain ministries and divide others to achieve administrative convenience.
