KCR Sets Deadline For Kaleshwaram

Bhupalpally/ Peddapalli : Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has announced his intention of visiting irrigation projects in the combined Karimnagar district. KCR first visited Medigadda and spoke to the engineers there. He inquired about the progress of the work and when they are going to be complete.

The Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS) on Godavari river is a major irrigation project being built by the state government. KCR asked irrigation officials and work agencies to complete construction of barrages and pump houses in the Kaleswaram irrigation project by the end of March.

KCR who visited Kaleswaram project, Medigadda barrage and Kannepalli pump house took stock of the progress of the works. He directed that irrigation water facilities be provided to farmers in June this year by completing all major works as the farmers were waiting for irrigation water with high hopes.

Others who accompanied him included SK Joshi, CM secretary Smita Sabharwal, DGP Mahender Reddy, MLC Rajeshwar Reddy, and MLA Vemula Prashanth Reddy. KCR also visited the Kannepalli pumphouse construction site. He expressed dissatisfaction over the pace of the work and ordered them to complete it by March 2019.

Congress MLAs Seethaka, Sridhar Babu, and Gandra Venkataramana Reddy met KCR at the Medigadda construction site. Saying that people have given a fresh mandate to TRS, he said the state government would demonstrate its sincerity by completing the irrigation projects.
