Unsealed VVPATs: Congress Wants Repoll in Jubilee Hills Seat
Hyderabad: Alleging that certain VVPAT slips had gone missing at the time of counting in Jubilee Hills constituency, the Congress leaders filed a complaint with Hyderabad district election officer M. Dana Kishore on Wednesday. The VVPATs were not sealed and none of the slips were available, they said.
Upto 45 days after the elections are held, the VVPATs and EVMs should be stored to cater to verification in petitions on misconduct in elections, the Congress said. We believe this kind of discrepancies happened in other constituencies too, they added.
"We demand for a re-election in the Jubilee Hills Assembly seat," said Congress leader Niranjan.
