TRS MPs Pitch For Kazipet Railway Coach Factory
New Delhi: MPs of the Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) called on Union Minister for Railways Piyush Goyal to seek immediate action to establish a Railway Coach Factory in Kazipet, Warangal Urban district. The long time demand was considered by the UPA government in 2014, when the State was divided. The coach factory was sanctioned as part of the AP State Reorganisation Act, which has a provision for setting up the facility within six months from bifurcation.
A representation of TRS MPs--B. Vinod, Jithender Reddy, K Kavitha, G. Nagesh among others today met the Railway Minister and requested for setting up the coach factory. The leaders are currently attending the winter session of the Parliament.
After the TRS came to power in 2014, the proposed railway wagon manufacturing and repairing unit at Madikonda has been cancelled thanks to the TRS's inaction in the matter. A fund of Rs 18 crore was released and 53 acres were acquired for the purpose during the Congress regime.
