Komatireddy To Be Nalgonda Lok Sabha Congress Candidate
Nalgonda: Former MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy announced his decision to contest for the Nalgonda Lok Sabha polls. "I have been serving the public since 20 years, I am willing to go any extent to serve the people", he said.
Addressing a media conference here today, he said the decision to contest for Lok Sabha was taken long back and that Congress President Rahul Gandhi had agreed to his request. "With the blessings of the people of Nalgonda, I will successfully contest from Nalgonda."
Calling on the party workers to take the ensuing local body polls as a challenge, he said there was very little time before the elections and added that the TRS government did not disburse funds to the Sarpanches in the last four years.
Komatireddy further alleged that the State government diverted the Central funds received for rural development.
The senior Congress leader's decision comes after KCR, in his recent public meeting here, said he once considered contesting from Nalgonda constituency. Watch this space for more updates on Telangana politics.
