After Making KTR Working President, What Post Will KCR Give Harish Rao?

TRS Supremo K Chandrashekar Rao, who was elected for a second consecutive term as the chief minister of Telangana chose his son K Taraka Rama Rao as the working president of his party. In an announcement made a day after KCR took oath as the second chief minister of the youngest Indian state, he declared KTR as the TRS working president. Party workers, leaders flocked Pragathi Bhavan to congratulate the new working president. On the other hand, KTR's timeline was flooded with messages. Among those to wish him were Siddipet MLA T Harish Rao and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi. It's worth mentioning here that Harish Rao won Siddipet sixth time in a row in the recently conducted Assembly polls.

This new move by the Telangana Chief Minister is seen as an indication that he wants to focus on national politics next.

With his decision to make his son the working president, KCR has sent out a strong message to the party cadre that KTR is the second in command and next in line to become the chief minister of the state.

On the other hand, political observers and even those close to the family know that it was Harish Rao who worked relentlessly to bring the party back to power given that there was uncertainty over the fortunes of the party. Harish Rao enjoys a lot of clout who take his word and follow his instructions blindly. Harish Rao is also close to his uncle KCR who trusts his nephew a lot so much so that at one point political observers thought that KCR would make him the next CM. However, with the Telangana CM's decision to make his son the working president, the confusion over who will succeed KCR is settled. Besides, political circles are abuzz with news that Harish Rao could settle for the Irrigation portfolio this time around too and not openly revolt against his uncle.

KCR too on his part,is expected to give him a good post to keep him happy. Now, it remains to be seen how KCR will appease his nephew who's worked hard and was instrumental in bringing landslide victory to TRS.
