Telangana Congress Bigwigs Face Shameful Defeat On Home Turf
Hyderabad: Telangana Assembly elections ha provided a reality check to Congress leaders. Senior leaders from the Congress party have faced defeat this term. Interestingly even Congress candidates in the race for chief Minister's post from the party also lost.
Leaders in the list are former Home Minister Jana Reddy, Nalgonda Senior leader Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, former deputy Chief Minister Damodara Raja Narsimha, DK Aruna and Revanth Reddy, who recently joined the party and took an active role in campaigning for the party. Another senior leader Jeevan Reddy lost in the elections, which was a rude shock to the party.
In a sudden and unexpected move, KCR announced the dissolution of the assembly and early elections. Unprepared Congress, TDP, TJS, CPI forged an alliance called Prajakutami.
Taking Chandrababu's TDP into their alliance came as the last nail in the coffin. In the wake of early elections all the senior leaders had to bite the dust. Few of them even losing it in their native constituencies.
TRS party went with a pre-planned strategy to tackle the Congress leaders in their own constituency. They particularly targeted the leaders, who vehemently criticized TRS party like Revanth Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy.
KCR’s plan has worked out well, all the leaders, who have been winning and who were easy bets also faced defeat in the elections. Shabbir Ali, Sarve Satyanarayana, have also lost it in the elections. Congress party could succeed in other states of Chattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan but failed miserably in Telangana.
