YSRCP Expels K. Shivakumar, Party Not Supporting Any Party in Telangana Polls

Hyderabad:The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has made it clear that it is not contesting the upcoming Telangana elections this time (2018), nor is it supporting any political party or candidate. This was officially confirmed through a press release and there is no change in the party's stance in this regard, it declared.

The Party has also reiterated that it doesn't intend to influence the voters'discretion and has left the choice to the individual to vote for the right candidate based on their sensibilities and social conscience.

In a press release, the party said: "It has come to our notice that the YSRCP Telangana Secretary , K Shivakumar has been sending wrong signals to misguide the voters through a statement he has made in public. He has also used the party's official letter head for this purpose and this is in gross violation of the party's rules and regulations. Apart from this the statement has been circulated to various media and television channels causing confusion among the public."

The YSRC Party Disciplinary Committee convened an emergency meeting before taking the decision to remove K Shivakumar from his post and permanently expel him from the party.
