Jangaon: With Telangana elections just two days away, Jangaon police officials seized around ₹5 Crores of unaccounted cash from a Swift Dezire car bearing the registration number AP 37 CK 4985.

The car which was heading from Hyderabad to Jangaon was stopped at the Pembarthi Election Check Post on the Hyderabad Highway near Jangaon Mandal.

The cash was kept under the rear seat of the car and upon removing the seat, the police officials discovered the money.

Officials counting the seized cash at the Commissionerate

Close to 25 bundles of cash which were packed and sealed in plastic were found under the seat. The cash was counted at the Jangaon Police Comissionerate .

The Commissioner of Police (CP) Dr Vishwanath Ravinder told Sakshi Post that the total amount of money seized from the car near the Pembarthi Check Post amounted to Rs 5,80,65 Crores.

Out of the Rs 5, 80, 65 Crores , Rs 2 crores belonged to Vaddiraju Ravichandra who is a Warangal East MahaKutami Candidate . Another Rs 2.30Crores belonged to Parakala Congress Candidate Konda Surekha's husband Konda Murali.CP Ravinder said that the money was being transferred from Hyderabad to be distributed for campaigning and this was confirmed by a Shell Company owner Keerthi Kumar Jain from Goshamahal, Hyderabad.

Apart from Keerthi Kumar Jain , two drivers Navaram and Muthyam Prasanth Kumar have also been arrested, he said. A full length enquiry has been conducted and the case would be entrusted to the Enforcement Directorate (ED ) for further investigation.
