The Jubilee Hills assembly constituency in the undivided Hyderabad district is home to the Telugu film industry, business magnates and politicians. Sitting MLA Maganti Gopinath, who won on the TDP ticket in 2014, is now competing against the Congress's former MLA P. Vishnuvardhan Reddy and BJP spokesperson Sridhar Reddy. Formed in 2009, the constituency has 341,522 voters.

In 2014 elections, Maganti Gopinath stared at defeat against Naveen Yadav of the MIM, who in the end lost by a slight margin of 9,242 votes. While Vishnuvardhan Reddy, who won in 2009 from Jubilee Hills, is desperately seeking re-election this time around, now that the Congress-TDP people's front in in the fray. On the other side, BJP's Sridhar Reddy will test his luck on December 11.

The Sanathnagar assembly constituency in the undivided Hyderabad district is expected to be a close fight between the TRS's Talasani Srinivas Yadav, TDP's Koona Venkatesh Goud and BJP's Bhawarlal Varma. In view of the low voter turnout in the constituency, chances are that the BJP might split the all-important votes needed for the TRS and TDP to acquire majority.

In the heat of the Telangana agitation and the TRS's wave in 2014, TDP's Srinivas Yadav won from the constituency by 27,461 votes and went on to become a minister after joining the TRS. However, experts say that the Congress's people's front missed the trick by sidelining four-time MLA from the constituency, Marri Shashidhar Reddy. He was denied ticket in the pretext of negative feedback in internal surveys.
