KCR’s Gajwel Opponent Vanteru Pratap Reddy Attempts Self Immolation After Police Raid

Gajwel: In a dramatic incident that caused commotion in Gajwel constituency on Monday night, caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao's (KCR) opponent in his home constituency, Congress leader Vanteru Pratap Reddy reportedly attempted suicide as a mark of protest against the police search at his residence. Following the opposition of the Congress candidate's supporters, there was an altercation between the police and a large number of Congress workers who reached the house soon after news of police search broke.
In a video that went viral on social media, Pratap Reddy is seen asking the police officials on what charges the search was conducted. "How could you raid my house without arrest warrant at this time of the night?" he asked.
Meanwhile, Pratap Reddy tried to set himself ablaze by pouring petrol on himself. Later, the police took him into custody and shifted him to Yashoda Hospital in Hyderabad.
