Hyderabad: Elections are the time when leaders generally hop parties. Also rivals become allies and vice versa. One more such interesting development is seen in Chevella Assembly constituency, where the main fight this time around is between the same candidates as in the 2014 Assembly elections.
In 2014, Kale Yadaiah contested for elections as Congress candidate. On the other side K.S. Ratnam was the TRS candidate. Yadaiah switched over to TRS, while Ratnam left the TRS and joined the Congress. In the upcoming Assembly elections, Yadaiah is the TRS candidate and Ratnam, the Congress candidate. Kale Yadaiah had won with a frugal majority of 781 votes in 2014.
TDP and Congress archrivals then, forged an alliance now ending the last three decades of enmity to take on TRS in Telangana. In 2014, the TDP was in alliance with the BJP, and now it has allied with the Congress.
TRS is again trying the son-of-the-soil and development cards to score another win.
