Narayanpet, Tight Finish Likely In Upcoming Polls

S. Rajender Reddy and Guvvala Balaraju - Sakshi Post

Narayanpet, a part of the Mahbubnagar Lok Sabha constituency, was created as a separate constituency after the delimitation exercise of 2009.It has close to 2 lakh voters and was won by S. Rajender Reddy in 2014 on a TDP ticket over his rival from the TRS, Shiva Kumar Reddy, in a close contest. After his win, Reddy crossed over to the TRS.

As in some other constituencies, the backward segment of Narayanpet is not going to be an easy seat for the TRS to hold on to.

Achampet

Achampet (SC-reserved) constituency was represented by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi's Guvvala Balaraju in the dissolved assembly.

Achampet, named after a famous local queen, Achamamba of Kollapur, is located in the foothills of the Nallamalla forest region, known for its tiger reserve.

It was held by G. Balaraju who defeated C. Vamshi Krishna of the Congress, by a margin of well over 11,000 votes, in the recently dissolved House. As things stand, the constituency could be among those retained by the TRS.
