Congress, TDP Will Push Telangana Back To Dark Period: Harish Rao

Gajwel/Siddipet: Telangana caretaker Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao, who was campaigning in Gajwel from where the K Chandrashekar Rao is contesting in the coming Assembly elections came down heavily on the opposition parties—the Congress and TDP on Sunday.

He asked the people of Telangana to be wary of the opposition parties who have threatened to withdraw a series of initiatives of the State government like the Rythu Bandhu scheme Kalyana Lakshmi and Shadimubarak schemes and stop the 24-hour power supply to the farmers. He also said that they were planning to prevent the completion of the Sitarama project and the Yadadri power project which was meant for increased power supply to the state, if they come to power.

Harish Rao made it loud and clear that the Congress and Telugu Desam Party wanted to push Telangana back into the dark days of the past and that voting for Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and the Telangana Rashtra Samiti was the only way to prosperity for the state of Telangana.

As part of the campaign Harish Rao met the members of the Arya Vysya, Padmashali and Ekalavya communities and sought their support to ensure TRS victory in the upcoming elections.

He also spoke about how Congress leader Uttam Kumar Reddy was waiting for hours together at AP Bhavan in Delhi for Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's appointment, which showed the sad state of affairs of the Congress party. He joked about how if the people voted for Congress their votes would go to Delhi and if they voted for TDP the votes would go to Amaravathi. He asked the people to teach them a lesson by voting for Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and the TRS in the elections.

He also assured the people that by the next monsoon, Kaleshwaram project would be able to supply water to many of the water bodies and make Telangana a prosperous state. A budget of Rs 1200 Crore has been allocated to the Weaver community to waive their loans and also a 50% subsidy to purchase yarn and chemicals used in weaving has been given to them. Medak MP K Prabhakar Reddy, Assembly Chief Whip P Sudhakar Reddy and other leaders participated in the event.
