MIM Mediator Between TRS, BJP: Ponnam Prabhakar
Karimnagar: Former MP and Telangana Pradesh Congress Committe (TPCC) working president Ponnam Prabhakar lambasted caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) for failing to deliver on his tall promises made during the 2014 elections. If not for the decision taken by the then Congress President Sonia Gandhi, KCR would not have been able to achieve Telangana's statehood even if he had walked all the way to New Delhi, he added.
Ponnam criticized KCR saying that he was feeling insecure about the prospect of losing in the elections. The secret understanding between the TRS and BJP was evident on several occasions, he added.
Between the BJP-TRS political bond, the MIM is acting as a "fevicol" to keep the two united, the Congress leader said. The Congress party implemented all the promises made in previous elections, he asserted.
The former MP further said that KCR wasted his time making meaningless claims in the last four years while increasing the burden on the public exchequer to Rs 2.5 lakh crore. The Congress will give a "Telangana increment" to pensioners after coming back to power, he promised.
"Those who are trying to gain political advantage by spending money and playing the religion card should be ignored in the upcoming elections. The TRS leaders, who did nothing substantial in the last four years, does not have the right to criticize us. KCR should stop uttering lies," he warned.
