The TRS party supremo and caretaker chief minister, K. Chandrashekhar Rao - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi electioneering seems to have gathered momentum. The party supremo and caretaker chief minister, K. Chandrashekhar Rao, convened a meeting of the 105 candidates who had been given tickets, this afternoon. KCR is set to brief them on the party's strategy and strengths in terms of electioneering and points to be highlighted.

The meeting scheduled to take place at Telangana Bhavan this afternoon will focus among other things, on campaigning to be taken up constituency-wise keeping in mind specific needs of the area. KCR is also set to brief the state party leaders on points to be emphasised and will also spell out the line he will take. The party supremo has drawn up a strategy to ensure the victory of the TRS in 100 seats in the upcoming polls.

KCR is keen that the 105 candidates highlight the achievements of the TRS government and how the people of the state benefited from the schemes.

The TRS has come out with a comprehensive manifesto like in the 2014 elections and is hopeful that the promise of a "Bangaru Telangana" or prosperous state goes down as well with the people, as it did last time. The party is now projecting on development as its main plank. Loan waiver of one lakh rupees, Rythu Bandhu insurance scheme, special welfare schemes for SCs and STs, Asara pension are among the schemes that need to be aggresively highlighted in view of their success, KCR feels.

The party supremo spoke to several candidates over the phone yesterday. He also sought suggestions from them on the points to be highlighted by him in public meetings. The TRS candidates have had a headstart in terms of campaigning, over the candidates of other parties.
