Liquor Ban In Telangana If BJP Voted To Power: MLA NVSS Prabhakar
Hyderabad: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Uppal constituency NVSS Prabhakar today said that the party would implement a complete ban on sale of alcohol in the State if elected to power in the upcoming Assembly elections. The wine shops along with the Bars should be closed down before 6 in the evening, he demanded. Speaking to media here today, he stated that the decision to place a ban on alcohol sale has taken into consideration keeping in mind the effects of alcohol on many a household. Adding that special measures would be taken up for piligrims from the State, he promised to provide free bus services to Sabarimala and other temples.
NVSS Prabhakar said a special task force would be formed to look into the protection of Waqf, Endowment and lands belonging to various Churches. An online coaching facility would be set up for the unemployed youth to help them find jobs, he added.
For the welfare of outsourcing employees in the Gram Panchayats and the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), job security and health schemes will be provided, the BJP leader announced. "The Telangana government is collecting the highest VAT on petrol diesel in the country. We will abolish VAT on fuel products after coming to power," he said.
