I Was Distanced Because Of My Proximity To Harish Rao: Konda Surekha

TRS leader Konda Surekha - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: Dejected Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader Konda Surekha remarked that the party committed a blunder by depriving her of the party ticket for the upcoming Assembly elections. She said that caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and his son, caretaker IT minister K Taraka Rama Rao were self-centred. "Even after I had written an open letter to them, they have not spoken with me. Am I worse than the 105 candidates announced by the party? KCR is discouraging the Backward Classes in politics," she said in anger.

Konda Surekha said that she was distanced by the party because of her proximity to caretaker minister Harish Rao. She added that the minister recently confessed about his plans to resign from politics because he was not able to function freely in the party.

"Very soon, I will announce my action plan. I have been invited into 15 parties including the Congress and BJP. Along with me, my husband or my daughter would also contest in the upcoming elections," she said.

Speaking to media, Konda Murali said that the TRS offered ministerial positions to candidates who shifted from other parties. Adding that their family had an ongoing rivalry with TRS leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao for 30 years, he recalled that Konda Surekha served as a minister before Dayakar Rao did. He expressed confidence over gaining a majority of one lakh votes in the upcoming elections.
